Who are we?
We’re Ben & Elise, attached to our Cotentin peninsula and driven by the desire to meet and share.
It was through our various travels that we discovered the concept of surf camps and surf houses.
It was through these encounters and special moments that we decided to create our own story around a unique place: the first surf camp in Normandy.

A family adventure
Ben, a surf instructor for over 20 years, has taught surfing to a wide range of people, from beginners to competitors. He’ll be delighted to share his in-depth knowledge of the sport and the marine environment with you.
Elise, who trained as an instructor, grew up in a family surfing environment. Attentive to everyone’s needs, she’ll be on hand to meet your expectations as closely as possible and give you a warm welcome.
Surtain Surf is first and foremost a family adventure for us, and you’re bound to run into our children, Lily & Milo.
Our Surf Camp
After several years of searching, we found the ideal property. A combination of a house and a hangar, steeped in history, which we decided to bring to life around this new adventure: Surtain Surf.
The Surf School
It’s first and foremost a surf school, with a warm and welcoming 60 m²2 reception area. This is where you’ll find all the information you need to organise your stay and surf lessons. There’s also a chill-out area with a sofa and TV. This is where you can work on the video analysis of your sessions with Ben. You’ll also find a shop selling surf equipment and accessories, ponchos, sweatshirts, T-shirts and local creations. Ben will take you to the surf spots in a lorry.
The Surtain Surf House
A house located 5 minutes from the beach and shops. It can accommodate up to 8 people in 3 spacious, comfortable bedrooms (double or shared). It’s a real invitation to discover the spirit of surfing to the rhythm of the wind and the tides.
The Surtain Surf House concept is an accommodation + surfing course package. This option is available in high season (6 nights/5 surf lessons) and mid-season (1 night/1 surf lesson). In low season, you can only rent the accommodation.
The Surtain Guest House
This house is located 5 minutes’ walk from the beach.
It sleeps up to 4 people and comprises a bedroom, lounge and kitchen area. It is a single-storey house, a warm and tastefully decorated place.
Surtain Guest House is ideal for families, couples and friends looking for a more peaceful seaside holiday.
